Permanent role for a small business Australian Immigration and Visa Services in the Legal Services industry, based in London, United Kingdom, starting between 11 October 2016 and 11 January 2020.

Position Description

Position Title: Diesel Technician (Melbourne Australia) - Visa Sponsorship offered to suitable candidate

Reports to: Service Manager

Direct Reports: May supervise or mentor Apprentice Service Technicians

Purpose / Main area of Responsibilities

Perform a range of engine & mechanical tests, to diagnose, repair and service as detailed per product warranty guidelines, company policy or Service Managers instruction.

Key job functions & accountabilities

The Diesel Technician carries out a range of duties relating to the service of vehicles, including:

- Providing expert advice in relation to current mechanical condition of vehicles
- Taking all necessary steps to diagnose to ensure the correct operation of vehicles sold under dealer warranty including the dismantling and reconstruction or replacement of faulty components
- Repairing the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission and the suspension systems
- Reporting all necessary work, service or repairs to service manager and record using in-house databases or reporting systems
- Ordering parts needed as part of warranty service
- Providing guidance and training to apprentice service technicians
- Maintaining an up to date knowledge of all mechanical issues and changes relating to dealer product range
- Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment
- Ensuring the safe work practices of all Apprentice staff
- Test driving and conducting final assessments prior to the delivery or return of vehicles to customers
- Providing high level customer service to the dealerships customers
- Undertake any other duties as directed by their manager.
- Undertake OH&S duties as detailed in the Patterson Cheney Procedure manual point 1.4 through to 2.0.

Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience

- Qualifications as a Diesel Technician
- Must posses industry level certification to operate as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in relevant state, territory or jurisdiction
- Developed knowledge of the automotive industry
- Ability to work productively in an autonomous environment
- Highly motivated
- Customer Service focused

Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience

- Technical Aptitude
- Post trade experience in a similar role
- Additional qualifications in the automotive/ mechanical field
- Isuzu, MAN experience
- Experience providing guidance and training to apprentice technicians

Annual Salary from £35,000 to £40,000
